《Tournament》
Karate without victory poses embodies the spirit of bushido!!
Karate has inherited the bushido spirit as its martial arts philosophy. Samurai respected even their adversaries as they fought for their lives. In the same way, the martial art of karate emphasizes showing consideration for the feelings of the defeated opponent, including refraining from victory gestures after winning a match. In Japan, karate tournaments adhering to this martial arts spirit have been held for over 50 years. Karate tournaments, ranging from small contests to large-scale events, are now held almost every week throughout Japan, but the bushido spirit is upheld in all of them.
Tokushima is a small Japanese city, but you can still experience the bushido spirit that thrives throughout the country by participating in or attending a tournament. In addition to the matches, you can enjoy attractions such as breaking boards and savor the flavors of Tokushima at the food booths. *The competition is limited to Shinkyokushinkai members. There is a wide range of categories, from young children to older adults.
《Discover》
Learn how Tokushima's bushido spirit is rooted in its history and culture!
Tokushima possesses a unique samurai spirit with deep roots. It includes the history of the humane treatment of German prisoners of war from World War I in the Bando Prisoner of War Camp and the culture of the Shikoku Pilgrimage, which begins in Tokushima and continues throughout the Shikoku region.
The spirit of bushido represents the ideal mindset for humanity in today's world that is plagued by conflict and war. This tour will take you to the Naruto German Village, a memorial museum for the Bando Prisoner of War Camp, and Ryozenji Temple, the first temple on the Shikoku Pilgrimage, to explore how the history and culture intertwine to form the samurai spirit of Tokushima. According to the traditions of the Shikoku Pilgrimage, Tokushima is the "Place of Awakening.” In this land of the soul, please assimilate the spirit of bushido, which will serve as a guide for the hearts of all humanity.

Enjoy the nature, flavors, and culture of Tokushima!
Tokushima is a place of special significance thanks to its abundant natural beauty that enriches the soul. The large Naruto whirlpools that form in the ocean are among Tokushima's proudest natural features. Participants will visit Naruto Park, where the Naruto whirlpools can be seen, the day before the competition to prepare mentally before the event. Furthermore, the tour will feature the natural bounty of Tokushima in your meals.
Watch the famous Awa Odori, a unique dance that reflects the way ancient Japanese people used their bodies for work and contains similarities to martial arts. Furthermore, another of Tokushima's specialties is indigo dyeing, and that color was a favorite of samurai.
